Outpost Sports Trek Demo: July 8

Posted by Nate Barnett on June 26, 2008

I was in Outpost today and they mentioned that Trek was having a bike demo on July 8th.  For those that can take a few hours away from watching the Tour de France, this is a nice way to test a few bikes.

Wow! So folks can basically try out any bike they want? I wonder how much work they put in to size it about right.

I’m gonna try to get out there and try the most expensive road bike I can get my hands on.

Thanks for posting this, Nate! The satellite view on your map is a great touch. Unfortunately I’ll be out of town, but this looks like a very nice event.

Adam, I know what you mean. I want to try a few outside my price range. The website says that there will be a Madone 5.2 Pro to demo and that they do take time to fit you to a proper sized bike. With the mountain bikes, they have the Fuel EX 9.5, 69er 3×9, Fisher HiFi Pro Carbon, and the Fisher HiFi Pro 29er listed as being at the demo, so I’m sure there’s a little bit for everyone to try. Sorry you can’t make it Henry, someone will have to take a few pics of the event.

Nate: Think of all the time you could shave off of your 24 mile (one way!) commute with that Madone! You can’t afford NOT to get one 😉

I know what you mean. 24 miles would just fly by. I was at Proform today and found a Cervelo that I fell in love with. It’s still a bit out of my price range 😦 I hope they have a Pilot 2.1 to demo because it fits my budget. I been having a hard time finding a bike that I could commute with and also fly on so I have decided to buy a faster bike to train on and beef up my current bike with bigger tires and racks for the commute. I see how a person can go from 0 to 10 bikes pretty fast. All you need is a reason and a credit card 🙂
