Bike-to-Work Week Station at Pro-Form

St.Joseph Co. Bike to Work Day is Thur.May 17. If you are riding to work stop by one of the three commute stations located at the Gridiron Plaza in downtown South Bend, Memorial Hospital, and here at Pro-Form Bike-Run-Swim.

Pro-Form is also extending their commute station onto Friday May 18th. 7:30-10am On both days we will offer free breakfast sandwiches, gift bags full of schwag plus commuting information and to have bikes checked for free. Enter the Pro-Form Bike to Work Day give-a-way! You must ride to work to partake.

Granger Paths 5k Run/Walk

The Granger Path Project, a community group working toward the creation of a network of bike/pedestrian paths in that community, is sponsoring a 5k run/walk on May 20, 2007, at 9:00 a.m., starting at the Harris Township Library, Elm Rd. and S.R. 23. Come out and support this worthy cause! Surely it will be warm by then…

South Bend plans to add 10 miles per year of bike lanes/trails

In case you missed it, Mayor Luecke announced during his State of the City address that the city intends to develop 10 miles of bike routes per year for the next ten years! The first lanes in this initiative should be painted in late April or early May, in time for Bike-to-Work Week, May 13-19. One piece of the first year’s lane additions will almost certainly be Twyckenham Dr., from McKinley (where the existing lanes end) to Ridgedale Rd.
